Michael J Kruk - Senior Venture Analyst
Michael earned his B.S. in Computer Engineering from Binghamton University with a concentration in internet programming and machine learning research. While working at BAE Systems Inc, Michael designed firmware, software and hardware for military ground vehicle power systems. Simultaneously, Michael invested in real estate where he identified and procured high potential opportunities. During that time he also developed intrinsic valuation software capable of pinpointing undervalued, publicly traded stocks. Most recently, Michael co-founded UNYstartups - an online blog and toolset that tracks and promotes connectivity throughout the New York startup ecosystem.

Rumit Agarwal - Venture Analyst
Rumit is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance, Organizational and Competitive Strategy, and Corporate Accounting at the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business. Rumit is a Certified Management Accountant and a member of CMA Canada. Rumit also holds a B.S. in Business from University of Mumbai’s Jai Hind College.
Prior to joining Excell, Rumit worked as a Senior Fund Accountant with Bank of Nova Scotia’s Global Wealth Management Division where he led a team of accountants to ensure accurate and timely calculation of net asset values for hedge funds and specialized portfolios. Prior to Scotia, he worked as an Analyst with Howard Johnson where he consulted independent motel owners to convert into hotel franchisees. Rumit started his professional career working as a Research Assistant for the Financial Sponsors Group at J.P. Morgan’s investment banking division.

Matthew Bloom - Venture Analyst
Matthew is completing his MBA at the University of Rochester’s Simon Graduate School of Business, concentrating in Finance, Organizational and Competitive Strategy, and Health Sciences Management. Matthew holds a B.S. in Business from Wake Forest University’s Calloway School of Business and Accountancy, and minor degrees in biology and entrepreneurship.
Prior to Simon he helped found Creative Bioreactor Designs, Inc., a tissue-engineering R&D firm located in North Carolina, where he served for 2 years as Business Development Manager. In this role he was instrumental in raising Angel seed capital, directing the design and development of 4 novel instrumental/diagnostic product platforms, and managing company sales and marketing operations.

Christopher Kaufman, PhD - Venture Analyst
Christopher graduated with a B.S., magna cum laude, in Clinical Laboratory Science from Arizona State University and subsequently worked as a Medical Technologist at the Maricopa County Medical Center. He also holds a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology, and Genetics from the University of Minnesota where he studied the developmental role of proto-oncogenes in vertebrate embryogenesis. Subsequent post-doctoral research focused on gene therapy optimization, during which he received a post-doctoral fellowship at the Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin, Germany and the NIH T32 training grant at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He has published multiple papers and traveled to international conferences to present his work. Christopher has also taught as an adjunct instructor in the Biology Department at Nazareth College.
Christopher is currently pursuing a M.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Medical Management at the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business.
